Running on empty
There's enough energy for obligations but not for what truly matters to you: by evening nothing is left for your own goals.
How it shows up
- The day goes on other people's requests and urgent trifles; your own things are pushed to “later”.
- In the evening there's time but no energy — only for the feed or a show.
- Weekend plans boil down to lying down and recovering.
- The wishes are there, but no movement follows them.
Where it usually comes from
Energy depends not only on sleep and workload but on where it flows. Decisions, task-switching, unfinished business and background worries drain it without being noticed. If the day is built so your own things are always last in line, they only ever get the leftovers — and the leftovers are rarely enough.
What it costs
What matters to you stays “in the plans” for years, and a sense of living in service of other people's tasks builds up. A lack of energy is easy to mistake for a lack of character.
